Sorry but you are wrong. Lots of people baught the Wii for WIi Sports. Hence why it sold so well. It was about the motion controls for these mini games Wii Sports offered.

People bought the Wii for the gimmick in passing. Wii Sports just so happened to come with it. Nintendo has been doing this for years ever since the first bundle with Duck Hunt. I want to see the sales of Wii Sports outside of bundles.

Something is only a gimmick when it is thrown in just get attention but isn't really a necessary or standard funcitonal feature. The Wii and its controls were not nor have they ever been a gimmick. Move and Kinect, for exmaple, would be a gimmick because there sole purpose was to try to get something of Nintendo's success with they on unqiue variation to the motion concept. They are not a standard feature and the controls are completely auxiallary.

The Wiis motion controls are not optional. They were put there to be and are the main intended method of play, and therefore not a gimmick.

We can confirm at least 4 million sells of Wii Sport unbundled.
