Truth be told as a budget game horder if you wait a few months on console games you can get them at near the same prices(both new and used copies based on the situation) + they hold real world value(you can sell/trade/lend) + some shitbag cant hack into a DD companies servers and ban/delete your account(something I am worried about, but hasnt happened in mass to my knowledge).

A lot of the old PC games on steam sale can be had for the same price off of ebay or a fraction more, but you get a box/manual/ability to sell/trade/lend if need be. I still stick by my guns and feel that PC gaming is great but not cause of DD or price for that matter. Mods and indy(+the occasional exclusive, which a lot of indy games are) are really why I still love PC. So welcome to PC gaming OP theres a lot of good times to be had.

edit: I am a gamer in NA so I cant speak for outside but my point is you can have physical copies of games at or near DD prices, but I guess I am a old dog with old ways.

Steam is good if you never game a franchise a try (e.g. FallOut) and want to suddenly purchase the whole franchise, or if you want to buy a game with heavy DLC content (Mass Effect).

However like you said, you can sell console games, and if you buy good, rare titles, they can actually go up in value over time and turn a profit, especially if you buy them discount. Sometimes there is even a crazy sale where you can buy the game for less then you can sell it on ebay.

Still, I think what you and I like is owning physical copies of the game. A cartridge/disk format that we can take with us anywhere instead of lugging a laptop of PC around. I really like seeing all my games on a shelf next to my tv.
