Sony has a lot of variety and Microsoft in truth only has Halo for me. Halo 4 is the only reason I am keeping my 360 and quite frankly I think I am at peace will writing off Microsoft at this point. The best Xbox games are formerly PC exclusive titles like Mass Effect, Left 4 Dead, Kotor, Jade Empire and many more. As for Nintendo, I am still iffy about the Wii U, but its never too late.

Yeah, I totally see where you're coming from. For me, Uncharted is a series I can't go without. But am I ready to spend 400$+ for it? No. So, I have to wait till the system is 2nd hand. I mean you can go with Steam for your XB/PC games, that's a great idea, but what guarantees that these will also be affordable on release date? It really doesn't. Also, on the XB you have the option of 2nd hand games. As such the advantage is mostly for indy games really. Because in the end you're gonna wait for the XB to go 2nd hand for Halo, and so for that you can get your XB/PC games on the 2nd hand machine anyways.

I know where you're coming from I'm just not sure I understand the strategy and I don't think steam is the only answer. It's a good one but there are others too.

The WiiU is another case. Maybe it's too expensive to boot. After a few years (2 to 4) you can get it on ebay 2nd hand for cheap and handpick a few games that people don't want to play anymore that you like (say 3D Mario, Zelda and Metroid) and you're golden.

Also, how many PS exclusives will you really want to buy for 50$? Even as a Nintendo fan I rarely ever buy a game full price. That's just how I do it. So even with the PS, are all the exclusive first-day buys? I wouldn't see that for a PS fan.
