current ps3 could do this but do you think sony would choose to do this and potentially loose $ on ps2 games that release on psn and $ on ps2 HW

ps2 games are best on a ps2 even with the EE in the ps3s they still had some issues with certain games

if you have a ps2 slim keep it doesnt take up much space anyway, the only other benefit besides having all in one with a BC PS3 is the wireless controller i found it weird when i sometimes go back and play games on my older consoles that have wired controller

I'd agree that they'd be loosing money on PS2 games on PSN but since there are only a handful and only recently that isn't very sound. Even if BC was the norm again, PSN could serve as a storefront for hard to find used PS2 games. As for $ on PS2 hardware, that console is very saturated and there is a sales advantage for people owning a PS3 over a PS2 since used games control the PS2 software market, at least if they bought a PS3, even to play PS2 games, they'd still be able to buy an occassional PS3 game new. I'd say Sony would benefit from users ditching their PS2s for a PS3 that plays their old games, one of the original "big deals" of backwards compatibility and why so many people bought PS2s when they launched.

I'd say, put in BC again if the price is right. It will help further sensationalise this new model. The more coverage they get the better as the years start winding down to PS4(2014).

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
