http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=98078&page=1# It shows that DQX preorders are no where near DQIX's, let alone any DQ main series game. It's single player mode is just a few hours. So my prediction is that it will sell amazing for an MMO, but won't get close to a million, not by a long shot! |
I agree that it'll probably be one of the worst selling main DQ games, mostly because of the subscription fees on Japan, but i'm talking about the quality of the game itself.
The few hours that you can play is the offline mode, afterwards you'll need a constant internet connection. While it's new approach to the DQ series, it's nothing that hasn't been tried with other RPGs this generation, and there have been some success stories with this method. Being constantly online doesn't mean that you'll have to play it MP constantly as well.
I think it'll be mostly a case of wait and see on how the public reaction will be once it comes out.
