If photos are not used in games, they would be gimmicks. The Nintendo video is a gimmick, yes as much as DVD playback is.

This whole 'what is a gimmick and what is not' debate is really just an argue of semantics. Like I said way earlier, gimmick has been used in a negative connotation only towards Nintendo. For other companies it is innovation...Pot, meet kettle.
