You are free to disagree but facts are facts. This is my last post. I have better things to do that argue for an hour over whether a format is a gimmick. 

Geez, I never said the format was a gimmick... I said the DVD movie-playback was a gimmick, in response to your "Sony is the evolution of gaming by means of multimedia".

I will read it. But understand you're reading me wrong.

EDIT: I just read the article, and I don't disagree with it. How does that make movie-playback less of a gimmick? Because it leads to social acceptance? Rather, this is perfectly in line with what I was saying. (A novelty used in order to attract appeal)

you know alot of the PS2 sucess has to do with the fact that at the time of release and even some time after that it was the cheapest DVD player out. Which DVD was a very popular format at that time, alot of people wanted one. They both did the same thing for their respective systems, had PS2 not have DVD playback it wouldnt have been as popular same thing with motion for Wii. If one is a gimmick so is the other.
