Yes, why not? It's truly a remarkable country. After all, only England has produced such an author as George Orwell and then spent most of the last century so faithfully living up to his vision.
I believe you're wrong about violent crime, by the way. I don't think the UK's violent crime rate has been below that of the US any time in the past decade.
