If someone has console A and B and doesn't like the offering of console C then even if a franchise they like goes to console C they don't have to buy it.

Do what I did...buy it for the Wii and play it on my friends Wii that collected dust! If you're a gamer you should have at least one friend with a Wii.

It doesn't always work like that though. The Wii is a console that some trad gamers leave to dust, but it's an exception in that. Also, it's end gen. OP is talking about games that can arrive early gen. For me, I wanted Uncharted. I only learned lately that it was a game I truly wanted (before that I just thought it looked awesome). Not much time later I found a 2nd hand PS3 to play it on. Now I can actually enjoy PS3 games too. The same can be said about any console, you're not going to find 1 single console that offers nothing you would want, I don't buy that. It's usually that the person is not looking hard enough. Even the 360, which I'm not a fan of, has a few games I would really like to play.

As for 3DS, with the remodel, people will be selling their old 3DS'. It would be the perfect time to buy a 2nd hand 3DS with MH4 for people who like MH but not Nintendo.
