GoW is God of War and GOW is Gears of War? Or GOW is God and Gears is GoW? 

God of War: GOW

Gears of War:  GeOW (or something like that, but different than the previous acronym)

God of War was released first so the "GOW" acronym is used for that franchise.   Gears of War came later so it needs another acronym.
