If Microsoft had the Wii U and knew what they did with Kinect, they could market the hell out of it and sell boatloads in the Americas region without any particularly spectacular titles. Wii U would do better because Microsoft can market.
If Nintendo had the Vita, and knew what the learnt with the Wii, DS, and GBA, I think the Vita would sell very well with casual games, but like the GBA and Gamecube, there would be a lot of new, unique, hrdcore experiences (maybe Earthbound 2). Vita would do a lot better because Nintendo makes great handheld software.
If Sony created the Wii.... It would either be a disaster, or PS3 (Wii) would have sold a lot better, getting a lot of exclusive third party support like the PS1 and 2 did before it. Wii would have probably done just as well, but the hardcore games would be more third party then first.
