I agree with the sentiment behind this, but this is exactly why I have such a huge problem with motion controls in a Zelda game. I have no problem giving motion controls a try, and have had fun playing some motion control games, because I can go into those games expecting a motion control experience. When they force motion controls on you in a franchise you have been playing since childhood, though, it is no longer a case of you looking for the same pleasure in a different setting, it is them forcing you to find different pleasure in the same setting.
If they wanted to offer motion controls for people who are into that, obviously I would have no problem with that, as long as the game was playable with a controller. As it is, though, I feel like they destroyed my favorite franchise just so they could cash in on the popularity and goodwill they had built up in order to sell a stupid peripheral (WM+).

And I understand, but I think you're assigning bold to the wrong motive. I think the real reason why they did that is because in their vision of Zelda, that's what it was meant to be. I don't know if it was for the money or not, maybe it could have been a secondary reason, but in the interviews Miyamoto emphasized that that's what he wanted from the game, and create an ever stronger bond between link and the player. He thought motion controls were the answer.
As such it wasn't their intent to drive you away, neither was it their intent to use trad controls for the latest Zelda. And so, the idea of using another IP doesn't suit the creator's vision.
EDIT: What they could do though is try to recapture some of these fans by recreating the old Zelda experience in a new IP. If we were enjoying Mario64, DK64, BK and other collection-thriving platformer, maybe the same can be said about the Zelda genre. And to be honest, how many games are similar to Zelda? Very few.

Darksiders. Man I love that game. I hope the second one also feels like it has the love for Zelda wrapped in it as well.

Darksiders is "like Zelda" if to you Zelda means having a bow and arrow and a hookshot and a horse you can call. For me, though, they stole all the mechanics of Zelda but completely missed every single thing about the franchise that is likable. What makes Zelda so great is the timeless nature of the concept (protagonist goes on a journey to find his destiny and save the world), the charming nature of the game worlds, the whimsy and the sense of innocence under siege by dark forces.
I'm still bitter because I bought Darksiders, which as I have said in another thread is by far one of my least favorite games of all time, because quite a few people told me "If you like Zelda you have to get Darksiders!" I will never forgive any of them.
