Skyward Sword was the worst Zelda I have played. We need to talk about this.

BOTH titles were released in the end of a console's life cycle. The difference is that Nintendo 64 sold 32 million units while the Wii has sold 96 million, and the massive development time. If you think Nintendo are happy with those numbers, you should think again.

I'm perfectly fine with you are enjoying the title, but fact is lots of people didn't, or at least didn't enjoy it as much as they enjoyed other Zelda titles.

The Zelda series has pretty much had a fixed FanBase for awhile now. Sure, there are some Zelda games that pop out of that mold due to it being extremely popularized (i.e. OoT and TP.) but the sales make sense in my opinion. 

On that topic, didn't people hate TP for awhile? Now people love TP (or at least like it) and hate on SS. Odd in my opinion.
