Hmmm...

You can always transfer the data from your original 3DS to the XL if i'm not mistaken. 


Sure I' mean having my games on two systems at the same time. In that case I could use the XL as my "home" system and the small one when going outside. But my point was pretty redundent as it's only relevant for downloadable software.
