Now they are aiming at 13 million... If they are as optimistic as last year they will end up with 12 - 12.5 million, so a 1.3 million decline or 9.5%.

I think it is optimistic, especially with the next gen coming up.

I don't know if it's optimistic or not. I believe that with a price cut to 199$ they can achieved 13 milion units sold easily.

I know that this "theory of the mass market price" is overused by Sony fans, but a pricetag of 199€/$ is a real market changer. Well, it is too late in the generation to see incredible results, but it will give a big boost.

For a customer a pricecut from 299$ to 249$ isn't the same thing as one from 249$ to 199$.

just with the 1.2 billion USD loss SCE posted last year, I can't imagine they will lower the price again.
