I would imagine people were talking about NA and the EU where the DS is still actually relevant in sales. There it is possible that pokemon could give the DS a little boost. Not sure if it could take it past the PS2 but who knows. Whereas this is a Japanese sale thread. DS sales were already at a point where they are around 1/4th the population of Japan, of course there isn't going to be any boost there. Even assuming that every single person who bought a DS actually bought two it would still mean 1 in 8 people would have a DS.
