I was mildly pleased at the announcement and then I played the game.
I didn't bother to go online and read any reviews, but based on my own experience, The Haunt is just awful. Terrible.
The controls are are really questionable. If you can imagine driving around a maze in a car with no reverse gear you'll understand. And that's pretty much what the game consists of. Walking in place, making gestures to open and close drawers and doors with the occasional duck.
If anyone's into this sort of game, Dark Meadow, made with Unreal Engine for iOS is a far better game with an actual combat system and better overall visuals, story and setting.
