It's good that you LOVE my common sense. Yes, SCE posted losses continously but then it also posted profits continously for two years, if YOU want to ignore that, then I can't help it. I am not spinning anything more like you guys are twisting my words. I can probably explain all of their losses too, it's just that most intelligent people know that by now. No one said only two years count, but I like how you guys think only overall losses count when we are talking about just one year. |
How does explaining the losses mean it isn't a problem though? You are saying people are saying Sony are doomed while ignoring the fact that some of the losses are due to PS4 R&D (Btw not all the losses will be). I pointed out that that isn't the only reason that SCE has been losing money for a long time. You then say you can explain why it's losing money.... so erm great? Is that how business works now? Oh hey we have had operating losses for years but we can explain them so..... no biggie right?
Which two years of continous profit? I am looking at the financial sheet now. In FY2008 they get rolled into CP&S so it's kinda hard to tell. However CP&S has only one year of profit which is FY2010. FY2011 was a loss for CP&S overall and with the information today we know FY2011 is a loss for SCE too. CP&S posted an operating loss in FY2009 and FY2008. In FY 2007 it is clearly visible as the Game division and FY2007 is a loss and FY2006 (first with the PS3) is also a loss.
EDIT: For anyone wondering I will post the figures. Information is from Sony Investor relations historical data. As I said FY2006 and 2007 it is noted as the Game division while Fy2008 and on is CP&S. For FY2011 I will use the publically available information from the goverment website.
All figures are in millions of yen. Brackets show loss.
FY2006 - (232,325)
FY2007 - (124,526)
FY2008 - (115,078)
FY2009 - (53,174)
FY2010 - 10,817
FY2011 - (94,374)
