Okay my external drive finally finished but I let it go over night and when it finished the PS3 turned off automatically (I set it to shut off automatically when nothing going on after a few hours) and I'm not 100% sure if it completed, Homer mentioned he got a corrupt file once and I'm hoping I didn't get one to and just didn't realize. So is there anyway I can check if everything on the external drive is on it and it actually got to 100%?

Its possible that that was my problem, why I couldn't restore my ps3 from the backup, because I had my setting to turn off in a few hours as well. The backup was 113 GB, even though I though I had a little bit more than that, but I fugured it might have compressed it a little bit. If you want to be completely safe, i would back it up again and change the settings not to turn the ps3 off after x amount of hours. But if not, make sure you have your save data backed up on a flash drive or something, so that if anything goes wrong, you will still have your save data.

I've had problems restoring from my backup, so I'm just downloading everything all over again, and I have my save data on PS+ and a flash drive.
