A like button is positive reinforcement; a dislike button is an attack and is only ever going to be used when you disagree with somebody, really.

If ten people enjoyed your post, then you should get ten likes. If five more people didn't, they shouldn't be downvoting anyway. That's not what the button is supposed to be for.

There's an awful lot of stuff on gaming forums that doesn't deserve positive reinforcement which is why you need to have some balance.
