I don't get people's trouble with Bonelich. I completed them with wrist-flicking, not by aiming at the sensor bar, and except for the first one, none of them took me more than a couple of tries. Some tips:
-Don't flick the Wiimote horizontally, but vertically: like superchunk said, as if you're drumming in the air.
-On the extended notes, start with a normal shake, then 'vibrate' quickly up and down: do NOT keep shaking on a normal tempo. Make sure you stop at the right time.
-Most pieces contain a basic rhythm with some diversions: keep following that rhythm and watch out for the coming diversions.
