Well, I just saw Brave and that movie was fantastic! It wasn't what I was led to believe it was at all. The ads show some tomboy girl trying to avoid getting married by winning an archery tournament. It's much more than that. Pixar still has it. I wonder if some of these critics are just trying to get attention by being extra harsh. The theater that I saw it in just now had people applauding at the end.
As far as computer animated films go, I'd say the only non-Pixar films that are on Brave's level are How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda 1, Kung Fu Panda 2, Rango, and maybe Shrek 2 (if I remember correctly--I did enjoy it at the time but I need to see how well it has held up. It had a lot of humor that was just for that period.)
