I have to disagree with you there. It's rated M because the content is too graphic or disturbing (things like vulgar language, nudity, gore, blood, violence). That doesn't actually make the game mature, or the player mature. Maturity is a really odd word, though because it's hard to really say what makes something "mature" in this sense. When I see people use it in terms of gaming, it looks like something of pride rather than of preference.
If you don't like games that are too cartoony, that doesn't mean you like mature games or you are mature. You have a different taste in games, and that's fine. Don't bash other people because of it, though.
