I thought the same thing about Pokemon Snap, Luigi's Mansion, Pilot Wing and Star Fox on Wii. Despite being obvious and perfect games to utilize Wii's controller they never happened. Instead two of them show up on 3DS which made less sense than Wii controller-wise.
Sometimes I don't understand Nintendo at all.
