My fanboyism towards AMD just hopes AMD gets to make the CPU. Even if the doc suggested x86 (AMD/Intel) then that has probably changed. You have kept good track of the rumors.

Ah yeah PPC is RISC architecture. My bad. For some reason I was thinking it was x86 too.
Either way... all rumors that I'm aware of for 720 show PPC as the CPU so yeah, I think they decided to ditch that idea at some point. Maybe it costs less to just have one CPU design that would also allow backwards compatibiliy than having a new design plus 360s CPU. Maybe they realized how much it costs PS3 to do that same idea originally with CELL and PS2s old CPU in the original skus.
