i like kinect for some things. forza (head recognition) and skyrim as example. i believe it will be good for fifa 13 in be a pro mode (or however it is called) as well to say something like "gimme the ball arrogant cr7" or so lol. and it is really fun to play with friends before going out, on birthday parties or only if you have them in your house for a nice evening with friends.
where it lacks is for "real" deep games for people who want to play alone with it. some of the problems are known and won''t be there for kinect 2 luckily (too less power, too low res for finger recognition and so on. i believe the slow usb was one problem right?). it won't replace controls for many games next gen but i'm pretty sure it will be much much better next gen and i'm even pleased with this kinect because i did never expect to get a revolution for super hardcore games.
it's good for fun evenings with games like kinect sports and dance central and it's great for dashboard controls and will improve there from time to time.
developers just shouldn't try to make games we played with controler for kinect. at least not for this gen kinect. people have fun with friends and kinect, use this to make games. people have fun to use kinect to improve games like skyrim or forza, use kinect for that but not to play the whole skyrim or forza with kinect.
