It seems kind of odd to insult your own artist in order to get a dig in at the competition. It would be like someone at Microsoft saying "Yeah their project failed because they used Microsoft Project to manage it."
I know he was just making a joke but I wouldn't be surprised if their PR department rolled their eyes after reading it.
