Vita is facing an identiity crisis. The type of games on the platform simply make more sense on a big screen HD set with surround sound, not on a handheld gaming console with a 5 inch screen. The other issue is there simply aren't that many notable games for the platform right now. It needs another hit like Monster Hunter was in Japan, then sales could take off without even the need for a price cut. But until then, you need to provde strong compelling reasons to get people to buy your machine, especially one that costs $250, and Sony to this point hasn't really done that.
