I thought some people would like to see the annualized version of the January 2008 sales numbers. The methodology is fairly trivial, being that a typical year will have (roughly) 40% of the hardware sales occur in November and December a non-holiday week represents (approximately) 1.36% of the yearly hardware sales.

The "Adjusted Annualized" data is what you get if you eliminate the week ending January 5th due to its unusually high hardware sales for all platforms.

Limitations:

  • Typically January is a slow portion of the year and the anual sales should (for the most part) end up being higher than this
  • The Wii was supply limited through out the month so its anual sales should end up being higher than this
