Giving money to the poor is not a solution to the problem. The single best actual cure to poverty is not the dollar bill, it is a quality education. Giving someone the skills to cure her own poverty is far better than temporarily curing it.

Once upon a time, there was a very popular saying in regards to this issue: The poor need a hand up, not a handout. It still rings true today.

I agree that giving money to the poor is a foolish idee. And I agree that you have to give them money by paying for giving them the chance to have education. But to educate and give them the accomodation you need money. Isn't it?
