That's because you didn't read EGM.  Those guys were the best in the biz (imo).

Couldn't agree more. EGM was and still is the only video game journalism I would or will ever pay for.

I can't tell what you're inferring here. Yes, the place of pictures and text is awful, but my only exposure to EGM is late 90s, early 00s.
