I'm really, really wondering about that "go to instant chat and start video chat" thing. How are they going to let anyone do that with strangers? Otherwise its's going to end up like that time on South Park with Chat Roullette... |
That's the whole point with friends and the other thread regarding Friend codes.
In the video he clearly sent a request to start a video chat and it was approved and bam. There ya go.
Nintendo also stated there would be parental locks. So i can lock my kids accounts to not do video or only with friends maybe I as the adult account approved, etc.
Point is, there is NO reason to think it will be gimped and horrible like Wii's system. It will be a modern system. Maybe no "in-game chat" etc. Maybe you'll have to pause to do things like that. It already said to not have a unified trophy/achievement system. But more miiverse based with status updates and instant game sharing instead. Frankly i don't care about that anyways.
So long as it has strong online play, with same game chat, and normalized username friend matching system. I'm good as well the greater majority of people. so far there is nothing to believe it won't have all of that and everything demonstrating it will.
Did you see the images of the netflix app and being able to view the movies on screen or gamepad? I'm mean c'mon the system will have a solid online structure.
