so call of duty will get more undeserved sales.

Since when are sales undeserved if a product does what people want?  Apparently people have an interest in Call of Duty, which is why it sells.  I am about as non-mainstream as you can get with gaming, and I still end up getting Call of Duty titles, because it does things that round out the library of games.  WIll see how much Black Ops 2 does this year, to see if I jump on it.  If it goes for replayability and adds elements of real-time strategy to it, then I am up for it.

What I meant is that while the Call of duty sells a lot, there are excellent games that are considered masterpiece that struggle to sell a fraction of what Call of Duty sells.  Don't get me wrong, I love to play Call of Duty, I've been playing the series since Call of Duty 2, but there're games that deserves more sales than COD.

If Call of Duty went away, there is NO guarantee those games would get any more sales.  People don't buy anything that is a masterpiece, because it is a masterpiece.  They buy it because it interests them.  A game has to intrinsically appeal to someone for them to get on it.  Call of Duty is almost a hobby unto itself.
