The in terms of functionality the UPro is the same as the UPad except without the touchscreen/motion control/NFC sensor and all that stuff.... in other words any game that can use the UPro as it's controller, can also use the UPad. Therefore there is no need to bundle it.

You're 100% right. Only difference in that case would be weight and design.

However, if a game makes no use of the touch screen then what is the point?

What do you mean what is the point... this is about choice. Some games will require or allow the touchscreen to enhance gameplay, some won't. Are you saying if a few games doesn't require it that there is no point to the UPad? or that people should buy a UPro to play those games just because it doesn't have a touchscreen.

I am saying that going by graphical quality, from what we have seen so far anyways, if a game doesn't use the touch screen and only uses (2) sticks, 4 face buttons and 4 triggers, how does it differ at all from what is available on the cheaper PS3 and XBox360?

If you're not going for graphical quality and instead opt to make your home in the world of gameplay innovation, you need to utilize the only thing that makes the WiiU unique from the consoles that have been around since 2005.

All i'm saying is that the choice will be there for some games... pretty sure most developers will want to tack on something at least, even if it's only an interactive map or inventory screen.

Graphically there will be an improvement over PS360... I don't think the kind of leaps we had in the past are possible anymore (it takes a ridiculous amount of scrutinisation to determine which of two games graphical achievemens are greater) Hell a lot of early games from the X360 didn't look much better than top tier GC/XB games (maybe even the odd PS2 game like GoWII) and in fact the same could be said for some early PS2 games compared to late N64... Graphical advancement will continue on the Wii U well past what the PS3 and X360 are capable of, even if the jump isn't as big as past gens. People will still move onto next gen consoles because they follow the games themselves, eventually games will stop being made for PS3 and 360, so they will have to move on whether the control scheme is new or not.
