I actually think that would be a bad thing. Not only would the core crowd flip out (look at how negative they are towards the Wii U and how it lacks power according to them), but with Sony's extreme dedicated stance to the core player that it's been pushing stronger and stronger, they will have to keep up with demands and needs of the cores or they'll get fed up.
That's kind of why I worry about Sony's plan from a business perspective. But the PS3 sure is selling well right now, so they're definitely on a good track with that system.
