It's only the addition of the Wii U Game Pad and the Pro Controller to the Wii arsenal, and it shouldn't be that serious. The main concern (for core gamers) is whether the Wii U'll end up like the Wii. Well, IF Unreal Engine 4 really supports any device from iPhones to PCs (including the Wii U which is somewhere in between), and Wii U gamers are going to be fine with more (possibly) graphically-inferior ports of PS4/X720 games in the future, yup the Wii U will do fine.
The main issue is whether Wii U will support next-gen mutiplatform titles. That's pretty much about it I guess. Plus if what Reggie said about the Wii U pricing is true, then well I suppose the Wii U will do fine.
