I noticed most answers are around the 300-350 mark.

would anyone be willing to pay $400-$450 if it come with a 320gb HDD, 4GB of ram and a newer video card then rumored?

or at the end of the day since its a Nintendo and potentially lack of 3rd party, it doesn't matter if they increased the specs

its irrelevant, because we know that no such SKU exists.

it is a hyperthetical. Because I bet sony or microsoft hardcore fans would not buy it at that price (which is fine) no matter what you put in it.

The thing I am trying to gather is, people are saying the WiiU is underpowered but yet I bet most of them would not pay the same $$$ they would for nextBox or PS4, if they were equivalient. So does it really matter if it is only slightly better then PS3/360? If Nintendo made it beafier would they really get more 3rd party support? would those who consider themself hardcore games buy it?

My guess is no. Nintendo are really banking on their loyal base to buy the console as well as make it affordable enough for people who have no brand loyalty and look for best value for money.

Personally i wish consumers valued their gaming consoles like they do their iphones.

I would love to see $450 become the norm, so we get great leaps each generation of consoles. But at the same time, if that happened gaming would become een more neiche.

I think they would, if they can actually see a difference. I'll b real here, this whole GPU, CPU talk, is just gibberish. I see a spec sheet and what does it mean?? I dont know, i miss the days when they would say 32bits of power and you know exactly what that meant in relation to a generation.  Most people even some of the "hardcores" dont really care about that stuff. Hell they say the Wii is more powerful than PS2/GC/360 and some will throw the spec sheets around, but that dont mean a damn thing, cause i havent seen a game released on the Wii yet that looks better than Halo2 or SW: KOTOR.  Same thing with WII U, people were talking this "3-4 times more powerful crap" and i havent seen it. Not even the first party games look like they are much better than what is currently available on console.

So in conclusion, the WIi U would have to justify its 400-450 price point. Especially if the hardcore already have a system that could run games they already want to play. and no putting an HDD in their would not cause the system to jump in price, i dont know where people are getting that stupidness from. You can buy a PS3 WITH MW3 that has a 320GBHD for 299.
