yer AUS is like $60-70 for 3DS top games.

$100-$120 (for regular edition) PS3, 360 games @ EBGames. However in recent times, JBHIFI kind of sells them at like $89-$100 at launch,


Why are games so expencive there? Import tarifs?


well not so long ago, before the economy crash, our dollar use to hover around  slight more than halve the value of the US dollar.

So retailers effectively charged double.

Now that our dollar is about the same or slight better than US at times, they still thought they could charge double. People started buying online (for games that ar enot region locked). So prices have dropped a LITTLE BIT.

Nintnedo DS is a good example of that. But sadly the 3DS is region locked for DS games as well so you kind of need to own a DS to play stuff you baught overseas.

What this has created is essentially stores are having all these 20% (about the average for electornic stuff) discount sales (fake as really they are just brining the price down to be on par). But when you walk into a store and see a $60 game with 20% off, then you go wow what a bargain lol.

Go back about 5 years and the only sales we really had was, Easter, Christmas all those public holiday type sales, Stocktake and after Chritmas sale. In contrast to now, some stores apepar to ALWAYS have a sale. Funnies ones are closing down sales and you see the store open for a further 1 to 2 years. Sure taking your sweet time to close down haha.
