It seems to point to US$299.99 at this point, which is a decent price, $50 dollars more than Wii is a reasonable enough price for the 'casuals' to spend on, and $50 less than the 'core' gamers would already spend on.
They should price it more competitively at $279.99; And market it smartly by exposing themselves much more than they ever had before.
Honestly, since Nintendo seems to genuinely enticed to attract the "hardcores", and apparently seems to have this questionable itch they feel obliged to capture that specific audience. They have proven time and time again that they are a unique hardware maker with specific undeniable audience to market upon.
I swear, if I hear G4 and the likes still run the "I'm still not sure what it is if it's an add-on for Wii, or is it really next-gen, another Mario in Smash Bros but I'll sure as hell be excited for PSABR because it has Big Daddy in it", I will purchase a Nair and remove the hair on a random cat, eat the cat, throw it up, and shove it on Morgan Webb's anus, and sexually rip her apart.
