First you want to try and convert as many of the people who bought and use your last sytem over first then focus on getting you new target market. They want the die hard Nintendo fans and the "Wii moms" because getting someone who already has you product to buy your next product is easier then trying to get back some of the people you lost. Apple is a great example of this tactic, with their annuel "shaming of the poor people". Your first go for the easy sell with your launch. And then build the base to attract new customers. And the question is how much information did Nintendo hold back and had their partners hold back to release in the two month period before the lauch and into the first few months. |
Exactly. They are attracting again the Wii owners to build a installbase, but this time offering them third party games like Ninja Gaiden, Batman Arkham City, Darksiders II and Mass Effect 3. If this userbase buy it, more third party will jump on board.
Also, can't honestly remember where I read, but it will be more announcements for games becuase the list Nintendo posted was only partial. I'm expecting to know more about Madden and FIFA, plus other games heavly rumored like COD and Skylanders.
Nintendo can do more events before launch, and the 28th will have their investors meeting.
