Completely different though. A smartphone costs $500+ if you buy it out of contract and even then the thing makes calls, browses the net and plays games that on average cost you $0-$0.99. It can also be used for e-mail and a multitude of work related tasks. Tablets do the same, minus the calls, but do so in an easier way due to the larger size.
A console would cost you $500, then $60 for gaming software, can not make calls or browse the net properly or easily or perform work related tasks.
There is a HUGE reason why they sell for the prices they sell for. You can't just directly compare the two.
You can also grab a Galaxy Nexus for $399.99 out of contract directly from Google.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)
