I'm just worried that they're going to use the gamepad or Pro controller for all shooting games on WiiU. I absolute *hate* dual-analog shooters. The Wii pointer controls are so much more suited for that task, and so much more comfortable.
I just hope devs will give us the option of choosing a controller, I'd vastly prefer the Wiimote + Nunchuk combo for shooters over any gamepad/pro controller setup any day.

Really? I have to disagree. I remember playing MoH Heroes 2 online, and I would get so angry when my character would start randomly spinning. The only thing I could see being good about it is not having to move your character's view to shoot someone, but even then I don't see how helpful that would be. And melees generally suck if they make you thrust the controller forward.

When done right, pointer controls are vastly superior in speed and accuracy, compared to dual analog setups. That's not bias or opinion but fact. However, it's up to the devs to create a quality product with controls that have been crafted with care and attention. It's easy to put out a rushed, lazy effort with controls that are buggy, unresponsive, or otherwise flawed.

The games TWRoO mentioned all have silky smooth pointer controls that work flawlessly, in my experience. Having played those, and going back to a dual-analog control scheme is... awkward. And annoying.

Also, I agree about the melee attacks, so far they have sort of sucked in Wii shooters, a lot of the time. But I wasn't talking about melee moves, but pointer controls (bytheway, it seems those melee moves have made it into ZombiU, using the gamepad, lol).

ok now that's exactly the reason i wouldn't like it^^ same with ego-shooter on pc, many love to play egp-shooter with mouse and keyboard because it is so fast and precise but damn i don't want to be a super hero on the filed giving everyone a headshot without a problem. i wish to have it a little bit more realistic and two sticks make it harder because you aren't superman with that. it makes absolutely no sense to turn 180° and give the guy behind you a headshot and all in 1/4 second or so. i never understood why people think this is so great, as long as all would play with controller it would be fair and for me much better.

and yes, i'm in minority with that i know^^

If only 10% of PC gamers were that good...lol. Dual analogs basically require autoaim (as do motion controls), the mouse does not. How is that more realistic?!

i play battlefield 3 on pc with controller against all the mouse/keyboard guys and i don't have auto aim. and my ping is 120 (i posted my bad internet in the darkest german hole once) and still don't get raped that bad^^. maybe i have it and didn't realize it lol^^ but even then, you don't need auto aim. why should someone need it? if noone had it it wouldn't be a problem. it's not me who decided to put auto aim in console shooters. but people want to have the feeling that they are really so good at aiming or whatever. like i said, i'm in the minority who believes all of that is stupid, playing with auto aim or without but therefore much easier with mouse and keyboard.

i would even prefer to have something less precise than controller. you asked why it is more realitic, i just donÄt see a reason why a soldier in a virtual war can so easy aim and hit one competitor after the next as it would be nothing. sure i don't want to have the real feeling of a war where i sit 10 days in a hole before i hit someone but it really could be a little bit harder to aim and shoot someone.

just give people who love mouse/keyboard because it's so precise something which is even more precise and they would love it. but for me that would be a joke. mouse/keyboard is mabye acceptable but even more precie and i would stop playing shooter.

btw i'm only talking about ego-shooters where they virtualize a person. not a rts or so.

€dit: btw lol:
