Dunno how to do either of those things.

go to C:Program Files (x86)Mass Effect, or where ever you installed it, go into the Binaries folder and right click on MassEffect.exe

Properties (at the bottom)

Compatibility tab (both settings are in there)

 

you may want to do that the config EXE as well
