Which hit the market first, the Nintendo DS or the iPad? You can usually get tip offs as to what Nintendo is planning on, by seeing the direction of their hardware.
What is being discussed on my end is the driver behind innovation in the videogame industry now, from a leadership standpoint, comes from Nintendo. That is what is demonstrated. Sony, while more than Microsoft, still plays catch up with things. Nintendo isn't playing it safe at this point. They don't react in their own way to what is going on in the videogame industry the way Sony and Microsoft do, with Microsoft likely the largest practicer of this.
