This is a demonstration of Nintendo's failure, not CNN's.

Nintendo aren't marketing Wii U as a new experience but rather as "what the Wii should have been to begin with" in their opinion. Up to now the console reeks of smelling like nothing more than a reactionary move to the industry ignoring Wii.

And like I already said in multiple threads, every single first party game shown could easily be mistaken for a Wii game, both in terms of style and presentation, as well as in terms of offering new ideas.

Getting the demographic this CNN article represents to invest in new hardware is going to be a very difficult battle for Nintendo to win. If they can do it, it could come with a price that will make the "bitter lesson" of the 3DS taste like candy covered rainbows in comparison.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!
