With a home console it's less of an issue than with a portable, you would just have to sit somewhere in your game room within cord's reach of an outlet, so long as the device allows play while plugged in (which Nintendo would be idiotic not to do).

Rechargeable batteries is the bigger thing here. I'll be able to reduce my herculean AA battery intake from this gen (though continued Wiimote use means it won't end)

maybe i'm just a spoiled brat but cords, i dunno, they just seem unexceptable now-a-days.  i'm super fucking annoyed that i have to plug my vita into my ps3 on occasion to synch my psn purchases//back up save files.  i wouldn't want to have it be an every day thing.

I play an hour a day on average (very rarely less than that, anyway), so it would be every 3 or 4 days for me. Not that big a deal, the harder thing would be trying to remember it.

my playstation is pretty much the center of my time at home.  i'm on it at least 4-5 hours a day, not always gaming 'cause of netflix/blu-ray but i'm always on it.  i ended up buying an extra dual shock simply to make sure i always have a charged controller 'cause it was worth $50 to me to not to be tethered down with cords.  if i get a wii U i imagine i would feel obligated get an extra gamepad as well.
