Honestly though, Sony was never about giant blockbusters, but a wide variety of solid titles that all sold well.

God of War: Ascension has a chance also. God of War 3 has sold 4.95m according to this site.

@Jay520 God of War III has sold 5.07m according to this site actually, the Trilogy edition includes a standard copy of God of War III. 

@outlawauron No, God of War: Ascension is the only upcoming PS exclusive guaranteed to pass 5 million as God of War III has and that launched when PS3 sales were only half of what they are now. GoW:A will end up in the 5.75-6.25 million range and GoW III will reach 5.60-5.85 million lifetime. Anyone who thinks The Last of Us will sell better than God of War: Ascension is a fool, TLoU has a chance at reaching 5 million but it probably won't, I'd bet it will reach between 4-4.5 million lifetime.

That's not how sales work. The rule (which has exceptions) is that sequels on the same console sell less. God of War would be an exception in a long line of titles to outdo it's predecessor on the same console.
