That depends when you define "finish" is. Finish could mean until the next gen arrives. Finish could mean when the consoles are discontinued. 

I personally believe you "finish" the second the next gen comes. I mean the PS2 is selling today, but many argued its battle was over in Nov 2005 when the 360 launched. 

who would u consider to be included in this.. many.. considering when the xbox 360 launched, the playstation 2 outsold it it's first year by a landslide.. and I believe the ps2 also outsold the 360 it's 2nd year by a landslide too..

The interest in the current gen consoles will suffer from the release of WiiU. Further more with the release of the next gen. 

So the "Winner" should be declared when everyone's interest are still present. I mean whats the use when no one is listening? 

Whether or not your trying to "delay" the end of this console race or not. Its up to you. But ill choose the time when people are still actively talking about it.
