APM, most of your arguments seem to come down to how the Wii, DS and 3DS had "gimmicks" that kept the consumers interested, as so increased sales - but then you go on to say that the WiiU's gimmick isn't as new or innovative as Nintendo's other consoles. However, people heavily criticised Nintendo for the DS's touch screen - and that's mainstream now; the WiiMote was a joke among gamers for a few years, and now motion controls are the new big thing. The point is, we don't know how well the WiiU's controller will be received yet, and there's no real reason to predict with certainty that this set-up won't become the norm for videogames in the future. So really, I'm just asking why you don't think that the WiiU's gimmick will be as successful as previous ones. And for that matter- you repeatedly mention the word "gimmick" as if dismissing the success of the DS and Wii on some consumer brainwashing that didn't add anything to the gameplay or the industry; are you using that word as its actual definition (a selling point that makes a product stand out), or are you using it as a dismissive phrase?
