Number 6 is not something I want on Wii U, or 3DS, or anything.

I'd rather they let Metroid sit in stasis for eight years than get Other M 2.

Dial the plot back to a bare minimum, restore pickups, and do a better job of hiding the direction the player's supposed to go in (back to, say, Metroid Prime levels even, which is just a stylistic choice moreso than a game design one), and you'd have a great game. I still maintain that the fundamentals there were strong, and did a good job of replicating the basic feel of 2D Metroid gameplay in 3D.

Much of Other M's problems could have easily, easily been fixed.

If you're going to go that far, just make 2-D Metroid. Bam. Done.

I'm realistic in my expectation that such will likely never happen again.

Nintendo basicly has two options to remake Metroid:

1. 2D or 2.5 D metroid (fast paced; Little to no story and all gameplay)

2. a full 3D reboot as an more straight forward, but still adventure shooter  (Face it > Metroids story hasn't been managed well.)
